Harvey Torres is Executive Vice President and Director of Production Systems and Development at Harvest. Based in Newport Beach, California, he is responsible for business development, as well as the recruiting, onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing development of originators across Harvest’s nationwide lending platform.
Harvey began his career in banking at Bank of America before moving into commercial finance with CNL Commercial Finance, which was later acquired by Lehman Brothers. There, he transitioned from originations into sales leadership and ultimately rose to the role of Chief Sales Officer. Following the financial crisis in 2008, he joined Plaza Bank in Newport Beach as a Vice President and Business Development Officer before moving to Bank of the West in 2011. At Bank of the West, he helped build the bank’s SBA platform and played a key role in the infrastructure and production growth that helped the bank become the #1 SBA 504 lender in the United States.
Harvey joined Harvest in 2021 and currently serves as both a producing originator and member of the company’s leadership team. Over the course of his career, he has originated and funded more than $850 million in commercial real estate and SBA loans, specializing in financing owner-occupied properties for small business owners across the country.
A lifelong Orange County resident, Harvey earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from California State University, Fullerton. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his family and spending time with his sons while supporting their athletics.
