RICHARD STEFANI Senior Vice President Business Development Officer Northern California Region With over 33 years of SBA industry experience ranging from business development to senior management, Rich has witnessed first hand the growth of the SBA industry and the benefits that have accrued to both the small business borrowers and lender participants. He is not a stranger to the client side of the business as well, having participated in two start up companies in a CFO capacity. That all adds up to a passion for small business, and he brings that passion to Harvest. Rich joins the Harvest team with a determination to continue this commitment to the small business community and his referral source partners.
TONY LETA Senior Vice President Business Development Officer East Region
Previously, Leta spent 10 years with the US Small Business Administration. He joined SBA in its Senior Executive Service Candidate Development attaining his SES certificate in September 2010. During his time with SBA, he has held positions at headquarters and in Field offices, including acting Deputy District Director in the Eastern Pennsylvania District office and Director in Delaware. He also served as Deputy Associate Administrator for Capital Access, overseeing all SBA loan programs. Most recently, he spent 4 years as Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Eastern Pennsylvania District Office. This office covers the 40 counties in Eastern PA, serving almost 750,000 small businesses and overseeing over $600M in SBA leading
Leta comes to SBA with an extensive background in marketing, sales, and general management in the private sector. Early in his career, he worked for seven years with Kraft/General Foods in Southern California in various capacities in marketing and sales. In 1991, he returned to the Northeast with George Weston Bakeries to run their $50 million Upstate NY division.
In 1996, he went on to be Vice President of Sales at Weston’s Philadelphia area corporate office, and in 2001 was promoted to Vice President/General Manager responsible for their $750 million bread division (Stroehmann, Arnold, Friehofer brands) with 10 manufacturing facilities and over three thousand employees. After leaving Weston in 2006, he operated a consulting business focusing on small to midsize manufacturing firms in the Northeast.
Leta holds a BS in marketing from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Gerald Schoffler Senior Vice President Business Development Officer Southern Region Gerald, a 24-year veteran of the retail banking, commercial banking and mortgage lending industries, works tirelessly to promote small business growth. He brings almost a decade of SBA lending experience to the small businesses that he works with. With a wide range of experience, Gerald is determined to make an impression. His experience includes owner-occupied commercial real estate, construction financing, business acquisitions, expansions, partner buyouts and franchise funding. He likes being able to provide unique financing options to help customers fulfill their dreams of becoming a small business owner. He loves picking up the phone, talking to customers, understanding their story and being able to provide financing options based on their needs.
Gerald is an expert in helping small businesses achieve their funding and growth goals through creative and out-of-the box thinking. He considers the most important thing he does every day to be continuing to develop strong relationships with his customers. He considers it a must to take the necessary time to educate and inform the small business owner so they feel comfortable and prepared for the SBA lending process. The guy that gets things done.
